Along with video making, a hobby of mine is photography. I always have some sort of camera on me, when it’s not my video camera, it’s my Nikon D40x Digital SLR camera. It’s getting a little old but is more than I need, I believe, for capturing beautiful photos. So it may not have a live view on its screen and it may not have image stabilisation but then I remember reading an article showing that the mark of a good photographer is being able to pick up a lower spec camera and still capture beautiful images with it without expensive features.
In 2009 I entered the picture of Tayside House above into Dundee University’s “Picturing Dundee” competition and won Best Student Entry.
When I’m happy enough with a photo to show it off to the world, I post it on my Flickr Page.
